Once again John Lennon demonstrates that
he's unafraid, perhaps compelled, to be deeply personal and unashamedly
honest. And in 'God' he distances himself from the mythological John
Lennon, proclaiming that he is no longer the dream weaver, no longer
the Walrus - "but now I'm John". But it wouldn't be John
if he didn't contradict himself, in this case with the ballad 'Look
At Me' - 'Who am I supposed to be? Who are we?' The album includes
yet another John Lennon song that's achieved the status of 'anthem'
- 'Working Class Hero'.
