Abbey Road was the last album recorded by the Beatles
(although released before Let It Be) and proved to be their biggest
selling. Whether or not Abbey Road is the best of the Beatles work
is in the ear of the beholder, but it's certainly a contender for
the most immaculate production. Yet again the Beatles pushed the envelope
with enchanting melodies, raging guitars, sweet touches of synthesizer
and some of the most subtle and sophisticated harmonies to be found
in rock music. Although all four Beatles contribute to the album,
John's driving 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)' and 'Come Together' stand
out. 'Something' was the first George Harrison composition to become
a Beatles' hit.
