gold album of abbey road

Recorded: Trident, Olympic and Abbey Road
Recording: February 22 to August 19, 1969
Released: UK September 26, US October 1, 1969
John's Compositions: 'Come Together', 'I Want You (She's So Heavy)', 'Because', 'Sun King' and 'Polythene Pam'.

Abbey Road was the last complete album recorded by The Beatles. Paul approached George Martin with a request to produce an album 'like we used to'. Individual members of the band were rarely present at the same time. Abbey Road topped the charts for 18 weeks in the UK and 11 weeks in the US. It was George Martin's favourite Beatles album, although John was less happy with it, describing it merely as 'competent'.
