Relationship: Paternal Uncle of John Lennon
Born: 1909

Sydney worked in a men's outfitters in Liverpool. He was a hard worker, was ambitious and had several promotions. Sydney was very conservative and frowned upon the unconventional and rebellious life of his brother Alfred. It was Sydney's view that there was little excuse for such behavior as, in his estimation, Alfred had received a good education at The Bluecoat School. Sydney's own education had been cut short as he was required to find work to help support the family.

Despite not really approving of Alfred getting married, Sydney was a witness at Alfred and Julia's wedding and afterwards bought lunch for the wedding party.

In 1967, Sydney and Madge emigrated to Ontario, Canada.
