Relationship: Paternal Uncle of John
Lennon
1918 - 2002
Before the war, Charles often joined Alf
and Julia Lennon to sing Italian
songs and play piano or harmonica. Alf and Charlie remained close
throughout the years.
In 1967, a letter Charlie sent to John
in which he explained the circumstances that led to Alf separating
from his wife and son played a significant part in the reunion of
Alf and John.
In 1989 Charlie wrote and recorded 'Ships of the Mersey', which
was played on Radio Merseyside.
